From November 11th to 14th, the kick-off meeting for the Erasmus+ project **Transformative Learning in Inland Waterways Education with Simulators and Digital Innovations (ARIELL)** took place, coordinated by Schiffer-Berufskolleg RHEIN (SBKR).
The ARIELL project aims to enhance inland waterway transport (IWT) education by combining theoretical and practical learning through digital tools. This approach aligns with the EU Directive 2017/2397, which outlines the standards for IWT competencies. A central goal is to address the skilled workforce shortage in the sector by equipping graduates with essential professional skills.
By leveraging innovative educational tools such as IWT simulators and online courses, ARIELL seeks to extend its reach, adapt to diverse learning needs, and broaden access to specialized training across Europe.
